With a Federal Election likely to be held in the next twelve months, the Governance Working Group has been reviewing the current preselection bylaws. We adopted the rules for the search team at last week’s Special General Meeting, and now its time to finalise the rest of the preselection bylaws.
We will be considering clause 3 onwards covering the issues of nomination, constitution of the interview team, voting and application forms. Some key issues we will be discussing include:
- What should the eligibility of nominees for preselection be?
- What should be the role of the interview team? How much information should they provide to members as part of this process?
- What sorts of information should we be collecting as part of the application process?
- What sort of information should nominees be sharing with members to assist them with their vote?
Click here to access a copy of the current draft which is based on feedback from last year’s membership survey and the feedback from the last election review processes.
If you have views about these issues, join us as we finalise the draft bylaws for consideration at March’s Special General Meeting.
