Peak Oil event with Greens Senator Scott Ludlam

Greens MLA Shane Rattenbury and Greens Senator for WA Scott Ludlam will host ACT Peak Oil event ‘Sleepwalking to an oil shock’ tomorrow evening at the ACT Legislative Assembly.

The ACT Greens, and the Greens at all levels of politics, have advocated for the development of a peak oil strategy to transition our communities away from our current unsustainable reliance on oil.

“The Greens are the only party advocating to end our unhealthy oil addiction and start investing in renewable energy. The ACT Greens have long advocated for the development of a regional plan to ensure the ACT is resilient to the pressures caused by peak oil” said Mr Rattenbury.

“We are living in a deeply uncertain age of climate change and peak oil. We cannot continue to rely on extractive industries and mining for employment. We will see the price of petrol rise and the cost of common goods increase,” said Senator Ludlam.
